SERVICE DOG PROGRAMS
A better mind,
a better body,
a better you.
We don’t just train tasks — we build life partnerships. Every Paws For Purpose service dog is a pedigree White English Labrador or English Cream Golden Retriever, raised, trained, and matched to support a recipient’s full well-being for 8 to 10 working years.
HOW WE TRAIN
Four training tracks. Different routes, different tasks.
Our service dogs aren’t trained on a tier system that builds one on top of another. Each track is a distinct training path matched to the recipient’s specific needs — a mobility dog and a psychiatric dog learn different jobs, not more or less of the same job.

TRACK · PSYCHIATRIC
Psychiatric & sensory support
Deep pressure therapy (DPT), interruption behaviors, body doubling for focus and security, body blocking for personal space, sensory regulation. Emotional grounding and crisis intervention.
Veterans with PTSD, recipients managing anxiety or sensory needs.

TRACK · INDEPENDENCE
Independence & public-access skills
Carrying lightweight items in a backpack (keys, medication, personal items), crowd control for anxiety in public spaces, emergency guide-to-exit training for crisis situations.
Recipients building public-life independence.

TRACK · DAILY LIVING
Daily living assistance
Item retrieval (phones, keys, dropped objects), door operation, light controls for PTSD comfort and mobility, balance and stability support, stair navigation, and medication retrieval.
Recipients with mobility or daily-living support needs.

TRACK · MOBILITY & MEDICAL
Mobility & medical support
Heavy mobility assistance with specialized harness work, medical condition alerts (diabetes, allergens), leg elevation for circulation, clothing assistance, mobility aid retrieval (canes, walkers), and complex task sequences tailored to the recipient.
A note on capabilities: Paws For Purpose does not train or place seizure-alert or seizure-response dogs. Recipients with seizure-related needs should seek programs that specialize in that work.
Recipients with significant mobility or medical alert needs.
THE FOUNDATION
Every service dog starts with Wagology.
Before a dog enters service-level training, they complete our proven Snowy Pines obedience curriculum. PhD graduates of Wagology Doctorate are the only candidates that move forward into Paws For Purpose service or therapy dog training.
